For years when I’ve need a special gift, I’ve personalised a candle but I couldn’t work out a way of viably offering the service. Well, I worked it out! Need a gift for that impossibly stylish friend that you’re always a little nervous to buy for? Looking for something to give in that situation where words are impossible (I particularly find this so when someone is grieving and words just seem completely superfluous but you want to show that you care)? Uninspired by the “off the shelf” options for that special occasion that you want a really memorable gift for? … allow us to personalise a candle for you. To start with we’re launching personalised candles with a range of beautiful quotes – with the quote on one side of the candle and a personal message from you to your friend on the other side – and with number candles that are perfect for special birthdays (because we’re always being asked for them)! Imagine giving a gift of light personalised by a bona fide artistic person, armed with a paint brush, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. No laser printing going on here folks, this is the real McCoy! Tell us your favourite quote (it doesn’t need to be one of these) in the comments field below. We’ll hold a vote next week and if it’s voted #1 we’ll send you a candle with the winning quote on it. Each quote is one entry – multiple quotes, multiple entries!
For a special birthday, choose from our range of celebratory numbers – we’ll paint the numbers on one side of the candle and a personalised message from you on the other for a truly unforgettable gift. You’ll be lighting up their life for years to come I include the photograph below to show you how the candles burn (i.e. down inside their hand-painted wrap leaving your personalised message intact). Unfortunately friends don’t usually send me photographs of their candles burning 🙂
Looking forward to hearing your favourite quotes and lighting up the lives of your favourite people. Cate xx
Hi Cate, What a beautiful idea, I wish you every success, as always.
With respect to the “every blade of grass” quote, did you mean the Talmud?
Yes. Thank you. He was meant to paint Talmud. Now fixed. Appreciate the attention to detail!

These are just beautiful and I’m sure they will do well. There are some really lovely quotes. I wish the number candles had been available back when my Mum turned 75.
I do have two small, but important, points to raise (the nit-picker in me won’t let me ignore them). While the typed quotes are correct, there are “typos” (would they be called “paintos”?) on the candles themselves:
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams” – the “s” is missing from “belongs”
“Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over it and whispers “grow, grow” – an apostrophe has crept into “its”, turning it into “it’s”.
I’m sorry, I hate criticising anyone’s beautiful work, and we all make mistakes, but I can’t ignore them, and if I had those candles, it would drive me nuts seeing them.
Thanks Christina. I’m wonder whether it says anything about our customer base that the only 3 bits of feedback were picking up errors?!!! Takes a perfectionist to know one. First issue fixed, second issue doesn’t exist. There is no apostrophe in its… although i can see how you may have thought there was as the spacing is funny. Happens with something hand painted!
Thanks for keeping a watch out for me… it’s not a good look to get these basics wrong. Obviously the time to pick it up is now. Also shows me that I am going to have to check every one myself 🙂
I hope you’re well
Cate
Hi Cate, you’re absolutely correct, there is no error in “Every blade…” and I apologise for saying that there was. Looking at it again, I can see that it is just the spacing that fooled me.
I do feel guilty about pointing the missing “s” out, and I also know that being a perfectionist is not one of my more endearing qualities!

Thank you so much for your comment… I’m thrilled you love the third one as it’s in our initial offering. I’ll put the others up for voting!
Cheers
